Every animal deserves a second chance — and at New Life Animal Shelter, more than 250 dogs and cats are living proof of that. Each one has a story. Some were abandoned, some rescued from abuse, and others left to survive on their own until the shelter took them in.
But while every rescued life is precious, the truth is keeping the shelter running every month is a constant struggle.

Many people don’t realize that running a shelter is like running a small hospital and home combined.
Every month, New Life Animal Shelter spends around RM25,000 just to survive — covering:

It’s not just numbers — it’s the cost of kindness, repeated month after month.
When we visited New Life, we saw tired faces — but also unshakable hearts. Volunteers working under the hot sun, carrying food, cleaning cages, and comforting scared animals.
Their hands may be dirty, but their hearts are pure.
“Sometimes, we don’t know how to pay next month’s rent,” one volunteer told us, “but we can’t stop. Because if we stop, who will take care of them?”
